Pro-bono Coaching Offer for Startups

What I'm Offering:

3 x one-hour coaching sessions, spaced over around three months. Online and for free. I’d like to offer this to a maximum of six founders or startup leaders over the next year.

We’d start with a short call for intros, and for you to work out if I’m a good fit.

What Clients Often Bring Me:

My clients tend to bring me the challenges where they feel the most stuck. These include:

  • People and relationship challenges

  • Communication and influencing (with team and investors)

  • Self-care and resilience

  • Being a sounding board on big decisions (strategic, commercial, or people)

What I Bring:

  • I know the startup world. I’ve worked with founders backed by LocalGlobe, Benchmark, a16z and others.

  • I’m a psychologist. This means: a toolkit of tools, models, and research; a curiosity and interest in you as a person - how you think and what makes you tick; a duty of care and a clear code of conduct and ethics that I’m accountable to.

  • I have been evaluating leaders - and giving them feedback - for over 10 years. I’m not afraid to hold up a mirror on strengths and blindspots.

Why Am I Offering This?

I see startup founders struggling in the current market conditions and having to make difficult decisions. That can mean when founders need help the most, they feel reluctant to do things for themselves. I understand this, and I’d like to offer some help.

I love working with startups, but my startup work has been declining, and I’m keen to reconnect. This is partly due to market conditions, but also due to my circumstances. I've moved to Bristol, I've won some big and interesting corporate clients, and I've been busy.

What I've Been Up To:

  • Coaching senior leaders in established businesses (e.g. Starbucks, Vodafone)

  • Coaching leaders in PE-backed businesses with clear and demanding targets to meet

  • Qualitative 360s: gathering and providing punchy feedback for leaders, then helping them make sense of it (often augmented by AI tools)

  • Working with senior women in deeply technical roles (e.g., telecoms, nuclear fusion) via www.shapetalent.com

  • Integrating AI into my practice and building a network of tech-curious coaches
